P for precious, P for Polar
While at SeaWorld in Gold Coast, I was really excited to see the Polies. Imagine these beautiful creatures embracing 20 degree Celcius weather! What a sight!

Whales in Paradise
I whisked DK away to a not-so-secret location , away from Sydney's slowly freezing temperatures and helloooo Gold Coast! On our 2nd day, we hopped on a whale-watching tour..hoping to catch a glimpse of the many sea creatures on their yearly pilgrimage to warmer waters. Among the possible sightings are Southern humpback whales, killer whales and giant loggerhead turtles. Unfortunatel we didnt get to see any killer whales (boo hoo) but we did come about 50-100m away from few pods of humpbacks. Tried to take a video, but this is all i managed to get.
It was worth every penny. he feeling of being so close to nature at its best was extraordinary. Only in AUstralia!!

Tetsuya's ; 592 Kent St.
Everyone and anyone who has been priviledged to dine at Sydney's multi-award winning restaurant would rave endlessly about their experience. I had to make 3 mths advance booking to get our spot in conjuction with our 2nd anniversarry. The place was like a prison outside, hidden behind stainless steel gates, with actively rotating CCTV cameras. But once inside, the building is modestly decorated with a Zen garden (that has a pond with no fish!). Service was obviously top-class , as was the food. Here is what i remember about our 10-course degustation menu:
Entrees:
1. Mushroom and chestnut consomme flavoured with truffles (5 lip-smacking stars)
2. Leek and crab custard (5 lip-licking stars)
3. Smoked ocean trout with avruga caviar ( 4.5 bon appetit stars)
4. 3-styles scampi: au naturale in olive oil, grilled with prosciutto, and in a passionfruit-tomato vinagrette (5 thumbs up stars)
Mains:
5. Confit of Petuna Tasmanian Ocean trout with konbu, daikon and fennel with seasonal green salad. (Chef's special!)
6. Ravioli of blue spanner crab in a tomato and basil vinaigrette (4 tasty stars)
7. Grilled fillet of barramundi with braised baby fennel (3.5 yummy stars)
8. Twice-cooked de-boned spatchcock with capers and olive jus (4 finger-licking stars)
9. Grilled wagyu beef with line and wasabi (DK rates best ever!)
Dessert:
9. Chestnut cream mont blanc with salted meringue (ding ding ding!! best tasting, most unique dessert i've ever had)
10. Granny smith green apple sorbet with apple jelly mont blanc (3 stars)
11. Chocolate terrine with mascarpone and cognac anglaise (4 sweet tooth fairy stars)
For 2 extremely wai-sek people, we had a wonderful 3.5 hour dinner. Thanks babe!
